Climate Crisis - Please take 10 seconds to Read This

ABC refused to air the Alliance for Climate Protection’s Repower America ad about how oil and coal companies have blocked the country’s switch to truly clean energy.  Tell ABC to reconsider their decision and air the Repower America ad.

You may have seen the ad already on The Weather Channel and other stations, but ABC refuses to air it.  We’re working to get as many public comments to ABC before 20/20’s next airing to increase global awareness.

Think about this for a minute… congress just signed a “bailout” plan for our credit industry because 600 Billion just “left” our market due to mortgage failures.  Did anybody mention that the executives of oil companies had record profits last year where over 155 BIllion went into their pockets?  That’s 1/4 of what the market “lost”.  Now, consider this with the fact that we can’t pay our mortgages because gas is over $3.50/gallon, a 100% increase in price over 4 years ago.

From the congressional hearings last year:

“In 2007, the oil industry recorded revenues of approximately $1.9 trillion, of
which 78% was accounted for by the five major integrated oil companies. Profits for the industry totaled over $155 billion, 75% of which were earned by the five major oil companies, with the largest, ExxonMobil, earning over 25% of the total profit.”

With these profits, they can pay companies like ABC not to allow commercials from competitive energies, while still airing their own ads.  This is called exclusive advertising and is common in the industry.  The viewers need to speak up at this critical time in American History.
